Classification

We only produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the very best quality at Agrícola La Maja.

 

 

Know what you are consuming and look for the classification label of the oil on offer.

 

 

 

The following are olive oils that are offered without any form of refining process, in other words, oily juice from the olive:

 

VERY GOOD

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL:

 

  • Absolutely irreproachable taste and aroma

  • Acidity equal to or less than 0.8º (in addition to other parameters)

  • Suitable for direct consumption 


 

GOOD

VIRGIN OLIVE OIL:

  • Irreproachable taste and aroma

  • Acidity equal to or less than (in addition to other parameters)

  • Suitable for direct consumption. 


 

BAD

There is another type of oil, but it is not for direct consumption, these are found at the end of the tasting tables with the higher level of acidity (poor quality). These oils are generally sent for refining.

 

VIRGIN OLIVE OIL NOT SUITABLE FOR CONSUMPTION (LAMPANTE):

 

  • Unpleasant taste

  • Acidity higher than 3,3º (in addition to other parameters)

  • Not suitable for direct consumption

  • It is always refined
