Alfar La Maja in the 5-litre format is our Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil designed for daily household and catering use — without compromising on quality.

The olives are harvested at the start of the ripening stage, between late October and early November, and cold-processed at our Mendavia mill within twelve hours.

This method guarantees moderate yields but outstanding sensory quality.

We obtain a green-yellow oil, dense and full-bodied. Its clean, lively aroma is striking in intensity and recalls fresh green fruits: tomato and tomato leaf, grass, artichoke, apple, and to a lesser degree banana and wild berries.

The 5L tin preserves all the oil's properties by protecting it from light and oxidation, and offers the lowest price per litre in our Alfar range.

Tasting notes

Medium-high green fruity. Aroma of fresh green fruits, tomato, tomato leaf, grass, artichoke and apple. Secondary notes of banana and wild berries. Balanced bitterness and pungency.

Pairings

Versatile daily use: light frying, stews, salads, rice dishes, pasta, vegetables and fish. Excellent for everyday Mediterranean cooking without compromising extra virgin quality.

¹Los polifenoles del aceite de oliva contribuyen a la protección de los lípidos de la sangre frente al daño oxidativo. El efecto beneficioso se obtiene con una ingesta diaria de 20 g de aceite de oliva, equivalentes a unas 2 cucharadas soperas. ¹La vitamina E contribuye a la protección de las células frente al daño oxidativo. ²El consumo de grasas saturadas aumenta la concentración de colesterol en sangre.
